Babywearing Dads - #KinderDads
As a babywearing educator, I get to help hundreds of families each year learn how to carry their babies in a variety of carriers. I've noticed a wonderful transition in the last 2 years through my work. There has been a HUGE increase in dads who are not only wearing their children but are EXCITED to do so. The days of believing that men should not be doing any child rearing is behind us and we couldn't be any happier!
We asked a few Dads in our Kinderpack Community what their initial thoughts were on babywearing and what it means to them now.

Did you want to wear your child from the beginning or did it take persuasion?
I wanted to wear from the beginning but was a little intimidated. Lots of help was given.

Did you want to wear your child from the beginning or did it take persuasion?
It took a little bit of persuasion from my wife at first as I didn’t really know much about it. She jumped right into and taught me about it 🙂
My wife helped me learn how to wear him!

Why do you like to wear your child?
I love it for many reasons. But here are my top 2. 1 it’s so much easier and it’s awesome to be able to use my hands! My arms don’t get tired at all (I like wearing him on my back). 2) I think it’s a great way for me to bond with my son! He’s 5.5 and I don’t know how much longer he’s gonna let me wear him. We do have #2 coming in April, so I’m super stoked to wear them from an earlier age until they decide it’s no longer cool!

I guess it took persuasion. There are not too many examples of men wearing babies out there. I'm proud now, though, to be able to wear my baby while getting things done around the house, or just to play video games 😆.
Why do you like to wear your child?
I love to wear the babies because frankly, it frees my hands up for everything else and sometimes it is 20 times easier to put the baby to sleep.
